The vision of Ambitio

The story of our very own mascot: Ambitio!

Ambitio was unique right from birth. After all, what beaver is named that? Well Ambitio, because his father knew right away that he was going to be special. After all, his son was going to do things differently. The beavers in the colony were rather stuck in their ways. For example, building dams they always performed the same way over and over again. The many accidents and unforeseen setbacks they took for granted. Yet the beavers wanted nothing to do with a different way of working, "because that's just the way we do it. Ambitio was annoyed by this attitude from an early age. Why not change if it brings improvement?

Renewal is okay

Ambitio's father supported him and taught him that it was okay to be different. He was encouraged to be curious and ask a lot of questions. This upbringing caused Ambitio to become exactly what his father hoped for. Ambitio became broadly interested, enjoyed exploring and thought a lot about innovation. He eventually observed checker building and quickly saw ways to improve the process.

One day, when Ambitio's father is finally put in charge of building a new dam, Ambitio shares his ideas with father. Ambitio explains that all of his ideas can be summed up in two main points, namely a pleasant working environment and Ambitio's method of working.

 

A pleasant working environment

Ambitio believes that you don't need the best beavers, but the beavers who together form the best team. Of course, the beavers must deliver quality, but when you have beavers who are real team players, who are willing to go head to head for each other, then you best achieve your goal. Those who look back only to point out mistakes to each other do not need Ambitio, he prefers to work with the beavers who want to learn!

Ambitio's modus operandi

Ambitio saw that many of the beavers' tasks were cross-linked. Instead, he figured out that if you measure, prepare and plan everything properly you get a much more streamlined process. The work is divided into small tasks that are done by specific teams. Each team is given a separate task and in each team there are beavers who are good at that task. In this way, qualities are put to better use and everyone does what they enjoy. This contributes to satisfaction in the beaver team.

Together, Honest, Result

By leveraging these two key points, you ultimately achieve what Ambitio believes is most important: Honest Results Together. Because when you work in a well-cooperative team and deal with each other in an honest way, you achieve great results.

This also proved to be the case for Ambitio and his father; the dam they built in an entirely new way became a gigantic success. It was finished twice as fast as previous constructions and no one was injured. The cooperating beaver were very happy with their work. The success of Ambitio and his father spread like wildfire through all the beaver colonies and soon all the dams in the wide area were being built the Ambitio way. So he even founded his own Academy to teach young beavers how to do it.
