Ditiosi speaking: Frank Mahn

What is it like to work at Ditio? That's what we ask our employees themselves. This time it's Frank Mahn's turn. Frank started at Ditio in 2024 as a Project Planner. He likes to talk about his experience at Ditio.

Frank, can you briefly introduce yourself?

My name is Frank Mahn, I am 52 years old, from Rotterdam and father of two beautiful daughters aged 16 and 17. I have a great passion for everything related to cars. I also love good food and watching soccer.

How did you end up at Ditio?

Before joining Ditio, I worked as a product designer for 25 years. The last years of that I had my own design agency. After those 25 years I noticed that I needed something new. When a friend of mine told me about his work as a project planner in the chemical industry, it seemed like a wonderful profession. This friend happened to be an old colleague and friend of Alfonso's and he introduced me to him. Then the ball got rolling and I started working for Ditio as of August 2024.

What is the most fun project you've done at Ditio? 

My first job was as Project Controller at Tata Steel. Last February I started working as a Project Planner at Damen Yachting in Vlissingen. A place to dream of, because besides cars I have been crazy about boats all my life. It's a long drive from Rotterdam to Vlissingen, but every morning when I arrive and see those yachts at the quay it puts a smile on my face. At Damen Yachting, I am responsible for the planning on board the ship during the finishing process. When the hull arrives in Flushing, some 25 subcontractors come on board to finish the ship. It is my job to schedule the work without the subcontractors getting in each other's way and, of course, to have the ship ready on time for delivery. The great thing is that I can step aboard any time of day to see the progress with my own eyes.

What is a memorable moment within your career at Ditio?

I experience Ditio as a very pleasant place to work. The commitment, the eye for each other and the atmosphere is very unique. Besides good contact with colleagues among themselves, the Ditio parties are also memorable. In my short time I was able to experience the Christmas and summer party. Fantastic!

How do you envision your future at Ditio?

I've jokingly stated it a few times, but I really mean it: I want to stay at Ditio until retirement and keep learning until the very end.
