Ditiosi speaking: Wilco Brevet

We can imagine that not everyone always has an immediate concrete idea of exactly what we as Ditio do. Something we are of course happy to explain. And who can do that better than our Ditiosi themselves. Solutions Consultant Wilco Brevet wanted to tell us a bit about his work at Ditio. Time for a new employee talk with Wilco!
Wilco, tell us briefly who you are and where you are from

'Hi, I am Wilco Brevet, 58 years old and I live with my wife Jacqueline in beautiful Hoedekenskerke in Zeeland. I have been working at Ditio since April 2018. So now more than 4 years.'

What kind of educational background do you have?

'I took the MTS degree in structural engineering, followed by HTS business management. After my college days, I took several professional courses in the field of project organizations.'

What role do you fulfill within Ditio? What kind of project are you on now?

'My role is that of Solutions Consultant with Project Controls Management specialization. I am currently in the project department of the agricultural corporation Royal Cosun. I am currently working on the V-Rise, Betafib and Silo 10 projects. These are all projects related to the sugar industry. For all these projects I take care of the project planning. Besides working for Cosun, I also do projects for the Solutions team and the Academy. For example, I teach the Primavera P6 and the 'Projects in Control' training courses at Ditio.'

Why did you choose Ditio at the time?

'I chose Ditio at the time because I was triggered by Rick (CEO Ditio) to be allowed to do the training and supervision of the planners. The knowledge I had gained at my previous employers I could put to good use at Ditio. I also found it very nice to work together with colleagues in the field at Ditio; it is a benefit to be able to talk about the profession with several colleagues. The fact that we can build on the quality of project management together is great.

What makes your work at Ditio so enjoyable?

'Over the years at Ditio I have had the opportunity to do many projects at great companies. For example, I have worked on engineering planning, developed a planning method, but also had the opportunity to teach a number of people the trade. What I like most and what I get to do at Ditio is to develop and give training and to train and supervise our planners. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and helping to increase the quality within the company so that we can grow. And of course to have fun working together.

What is the most fun project you've done at Ditio?

'The most enjoyable project I have had the pleasure of doing so far is developing the Project Controls training. I was allowed to devise and give this to Ditiosi within the Document Control Management (DIM) and Project Controls Management (PCM) departments. The contact with colleagues and being able to take someone further in his profession has given me a lot of energy.'

What is a memorable moment within your career at Ditio?

'That was last year around Christmas. Henk, Rick and Melanie were then suddenly at my door with a Christmas gift. To me, this indicated Ditio's commitment to its employees within times when you couldn't physically see each other at, say, a Christmas party.'

How do you envision your future at Ditio?

'I hope I can continue to make a good contribution to the growth in capacity and quality of Ditio and that we can manage this together. In the future I would therefore like to do less executive project work and more guidance. As for the future of Ditio, I think we are on the right track and are becoming better known. We are in a field that is developing rapidly and in increasing demand. We are learning fast as Ditio and discovering many new opportunities together and that is good for a bright future.
