Employee of the Year 2019: Emran Celik

Every year an employee of the year is elected during the Christmas Party. At the last award ceremony, Emran Celik was put in the spotlight.

Since 2017, Emran has been dedicated to HR, Sales Support and Contract Management, among others, and is a classic example of an all-rounder. A self-directed professional, he always goes the "extra mile" and is willing to help colleagues in Rijswijk at all times. His helpfulness, friendliness and the fact that he has taken control of his own Learning & Development are all qualities that we would very much like to see in a Ditiosi.

When you put it to Emran, you know it will be taken care of!

Hence, this year it was decided that a quiet force in the background of our organization is the Ditio Employee of the Year! One you may not see or hear from as often, but can't live without. In this article, we talk to Emran about his work at Ditio, memorable moments and take a look at the future.

Emran, can you talk a little bit about how you got into Ditio? What kind of role did you get and what was your first feeling at Ditio?

"I entered Ditio through a friend of mine, Jim van Gilst, who was already working at Ditio as Finance Manager. At the time I had my own business but was still looking for a bit of security. So when Jim indicated that a position became available I wanted to take advantage of it, especially after hearing positive stories about his work. So I started within a Contract Manager position and quickly found that Jim's stories were nothing but true. Opportunity to grow, an open working atmosphere and plenty of room for personal input. This was confirmed again when after my first month I was told by the management that they noticed that I had more to offer than just Contract Management. This immediately gave me a piece of Recruitment as well and over the years my duties and responsibilities grew along with it."

What makes working at Ditio fun for you?

"First of all, of course, the colleagues and the fact that you are encouraged to tackle things in your own way and rewarded with more responsibility for doing so. Also the Friday afternoon drinks and Brightnight's in which workshops and thus knowledge sharing are central make the work here fun. You get to know each other better and getting together with people who work outside the office is always fun. Furthermore, I get a lot of pleasure from my work because it is broad. Every day is different and there is always a lot to pick up. Because of this, I still go to work every day with a smile on my face. From my job it is nice that I have a lot of contact with all Ditiosi. Especially when I notice that I can contribute to solving other people's problems, I get satisfaction from that. And I also notice that I am appreciated for that!"

What moments at Ditio have stuck with you?

"First, of course, the promotion right at the end of my probationary period. That people really see your potential and your added value to the company. In addition, for me personally, the recent Christmas drink was a great moment to look back on. You noticed at the event that there is a lot of mutual pride and trust. We really stood there as a family with a purpose. Finally, my being named employee of the year is of course one of the greatest moments I've had the pleasure of experiencing. But the tricky thing is to name great moments when you actually enjoy going to work every day."

How do you envision the future?

"I notice that Ditio is making considerable strides at the moment. The ambition to grow as a company is there and I also see that it is succeeding. If this trend continues there will naturally be more responsibilities for me as the organization scales up. I am therefore very much looking forward to growing even more within my current position and do not see myself leaving the Ditio family here any time soon!"
