Project Skyline is a large-scale modernization project. The goal: the phased replacement of 16 outdated stoves with 8 new, modern ones. This change not only leads to a 10% reduction in CO₂, but also reduces the number of chimneys from 10 to 6. This literally changes the skyline of the complex, hence the project name.
In addition to sustainability, the focus is on reliability and efficiency: the new installations must deliver the same capacity, but with less maintenance and lower emissions.
Ditio supports Technip (T.EN) within Project Skyline with Document Control and Planning. Our specialists ensure that the large amount of project documentation remains complete, up-to-date and accessible. In this way we create an overview and ensure that all parties, from engineers to suppliers, have access to the correct information.
In addition, our planners keep a grip on the progress, so that activities are connected in time and systems can be delivered on schedule.
A project of this size requires a lot of flexibility. Suppliers regularly deliver documents and data later than agreed upon. This can directly impact the pace of delivery and installation. Our Ditiosi keep a cool head and carefully monitor the process.
Act professionally and calmly: even when deadlines shift.
Escalate where necessary: when suppliers fail to respond, we ensure that issues are made negotiable at management level. As a result, extra resources have now been freed up and cooperation has demonstrably improved.
Clear communication: we continue to provide structured feedback to both internal teams and external parties.
With this approach, we prevent backlogs from growing into larger risks and contribute to reliable delivery of systems.
Thanks to tight document management and schedule monitoring:
the first system (instrument air) has already been successfully delivered,
the new construction of the next pair of stoves is on schedule,
and the decommissioning of obsolete facilities proceeds in a controlled manner.
This shows that document control and planning are crucial to ensure progress within complex industrial projects.
Project Skyline again emphasizes the importance of good communication and clear agreements. When contracts are issued via the customer, but we have to manage them, a mismatch quickly arises between expectations and agreements with suppliers.
Our lesson: focus even more on clear division of roles and agreements at the front end. Only then can you avoid having to "keep sweeping things under the carpet".
